Designed to assist riders to stop effectively in a short distance, the KLX230’s front wheel ABS offers additional confidence to riders when riding on a low-traction surface. Using a switch on the left handle, riders can opt to disable the ABS according to their preference.

The KLX230’s engine offers ample power for trail use. With a bore and stroke configuration chosen to prioritise torque, the engine delivers strong low- to mid-range performance that facilitates low-speed control. Fuel injection delivers precise response and contributes to controllability. Smooth torque characteristics create an easy-to-handle engine character and deliver linear acceleration.

The KLX230 features an off-road racing-inspired look that reflects the spirit of Kawasaki’s legendary KX racer machines with over 50 years of success on the world’s racing stage. Its aggressive yet smooth bodywork takes inspiration from the KX450 and KX250 designs, bringing KX-style performance and image to a broader range of riders.

Like Kawasaki’s motocross machines, a flat-style seat design offers great freedom of movement for trail riding. Touring comfort was a consideration when deciding the seat shape (width) and thickness.

Large-diameter wheels, measuring 21” at the front and 18” at the rear, efficiently overcome obstacles encountered on trails, greatly contributing to trail-riding performance.

The long-travel suspension, tuned for front-rear balance and light handling, can capably tackle everything from city streets to challenging roads. And with 255 mm of ground clearance, riders can navigate the trails with confidence.

The fuel tank, shrouds and side covers form a single, flowing surface with minimal protrusions, contributing to sharp, functional KX-style bodywork. The seat, which extends over the top of the tank, features a flat profile that complements the bike’s sleek overall appearance.
